How do I dye my hair darker a color? (pic)?

I%26#039;ve used bleach to get my hair light blonde and have been touching up roots every 6 weeks. now i want to go darker so i can grow out my natural hair color. I%26#039;ve heard hair dye turns the hair green or gray ish so how do i avoid that w/o going to the salon? I wanna use clairol perfect 10 (shade #7 dark blonde), would you recommend using that, or something different? please help.

oh and here%26#039;s a picture of my current hair color:

Awh , I like your hair color now , but I think the box color should work fine , although the salon is always the best choice , it won%26#039;t turn your hair green , and with blonde you can always easily go back to lighter or darker if you don%26#039;t like it(:

Make sure that the the Clairol does noy have a blue, green, or violet base. The base should either be neutral, gold, yellow, or red. If the box does not state which color the base is, then you should buy the color from a beauty supply store, instead of the supermarket. Regardless of what color you dye your hair, you will have to keep dyeing it repeatedly in order to maintain the color because now that you have bleached your hair, the cuticle is open and porous, and will therefore release the color as quickly as it absorbs it.
Reply:this is the shade you picked

from what i understand this appears to be a dark blonde with a warmer base.....warmer meaning golden. this is what your hair needs to be able to go to a darker shade typically. if you were to put an ash base on your current haircolor your hair will turn green...gray... etc.........but you also have to consider the porosity of your hair. in your pic your hair looks overlightened which means your hair will be porous. it can grab off tones very easily meaning it turn out the wrong color....it could still turn greenish etc. but to answer your question you need a warm based color meaning it should have a golden tone maybe even a little red/orange to keep your hair from turning out a weird color. then again it is hard to give advice if i can%26#039;t see your hair .....meaning to feel the condition and porosity of it. i would highly recommend that you use a non ammonia color meaning deposit only color. it is much milder and will not damage the hair like a permanent color can. but for best results go see a reputable colorist......good luck
Reply:Well, personally I think your hair is pretty like it is but believe me I know it%26#039;s a pain having to dye it all the time. I use Garnier #63 and then I highlight it with L%26#039;oreal Frost and Design and I have never had a problem with it looking greenish or grayish. And my highlights are white-blond and they are never a bad color after I dye my hair with the Garnier. So I can say with complete confidence, at least about the products I use, they don%26#039;t cause what you are worried about. Hope this helps.
